In almost 20 years of archaeological excavations, I have never discovered gold.
(Yes, real-life archaeology differs from Indiana Jones, but that's another story.)
This year, gold discovered me—and not just me, but the entire MOZAIC reciprocal mentoring program team from EMCC Romania—when it was awarded the highest accreditation achievement: GOLD LEVEL. 🏅
What's the connection to archaeology? It made me realise that, somehow, I joined a mentoring program called MOZAIC, where I was welcomed by an amazing team and community and where I continue to discover—but in a different way.
Just like an ancient mosaic is made up of diverse, carefully placed pieces that come together to form something greater, MOZAIC brings together mentors and mentees, creating a powerful, interconnected whole.
The first image is one of my favourite golden mosaics: the one found in the Basilica of San Vitale, Ravenna, from the 6th century CE, this detail illustrates Empress Theodora of the Eastern Roman Empire.
The second image shows the team behind MOZAIC: Alina Avarvarei Vlad Dutescu Adriana Vasilache Florin Lohan Gabriela-Elena Dura Calina Mircea Alina Mărgineanu Dana Ghiban Ana M. Marin DTM, EMCC SP, ICF PCC & Alexandra Dolea, PhD

"MOZAIC scored 100% in each of the six criteria:
• Clarity of Purpose
• Stakeholder Training and Briefing
• Process for Selection and Matching
• Process for Measurement and Review
• Maintaining High Standards of Ethics
• Administration and Support"
